What BHB actually is
BHB (beta-hydroxybutyrate) is an exogenous ketone body — a compound the body also produces naturally during ketosis. Taking it as a supplement is intended to raise ketone levels in the blood without requiring a strict ketogenic diet.
Why there are four forms in one formula
Calcium BHB Salt, Magnesium BHB Salt and Sodium BHB Salt are all the same BHB compound, simply bound to different minerals for stability and electrolyte balance. Combining multiple BHB salts together (a "keto salts" blend) is a standard, legitimate practice in the ketone supplement industry — it isn't a red flag on its own.
What this means for blood sugar specifically
Ketosis and blood sugar are related but distinct concepts. While shifting toward fat metabolism can reduce reliance on circulating glucose, direct clinical evidence that exogenous BHB salts lower blood sugar in a way comparable to Apple Cider Vinegar's documented effects is considerably thinner.
